    I am a classically trained pianist and this comes with a certain mindset. When I decided to be a jazz pianist, in the beginning it was extremely difficult to let everything go and just improvise. I bought all the jazz books available, I have learned a bunch of scales and voicings in 12 keys, but it did not help me to express myself through music any better. I have tried for 3 years, practicing 6-8 hours every day and then the day has finally arrived:

    I could not touch the piano anymore :)

    This is why you barely see my promoting the "practicing everything in 12 keys" idea.

    Anyway, after two years I decided to sit down to the piano again...
    I closed my eyes...
    and tried something very different.
